Commander or ECoS?

Hello everyone, I have read the instructions of the Viess Commander and it says that you only have to put a loco on the track and it will immediately be recognized as to which loco it is, does the ECoS do this, or do you have to enter the information in separately?

I don't know as I haven't used an ECoS, but I guess if you have a Railcom enabled decoder inside it may do.

The Commander didn't recognise the locos yesterday when I was playing about with one, so you may need occupany dectection first, so that when you do put a loco on the rails in that section, it will see the loco and then maybe read back the information.

You need to play about alot more than a few hours to understand what the Commander can actually do!
As we only have the quick start instructions in English, which we didn't have when playing about maybe we missed something which would be very easy, there is so much to learn on the Commander.

Hopefully one of the ECoS owners will be along shortly and have the answers!
Just a thought, is the ECoS Railcom enabled or ready?

I thought I read somewhere it was ready, but required either a software upgrade or module fitted?
