I fancy having a go at motorising the Dapol, ex Airfix, railbus kit. I've heard three options;

1, the two wheel power unit from a Hornby Pacer

2, The chassis unit from the Lima freelance diesel shunter

3, A firm called Connexions do a motor kit for the model, anyone done one? How easy are they to put together?

Suggestions welcome

QUOTE (N Holliday @ 19 Mar 2021, 14:13) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Branchlines do a motorising kit and an interior kit, which seems to have received good reviews, but I have no experience of either myself. They don't have a website but they are apparently good at responding to email enquiries. [email protected]

And there's a page of railbus motorisation projects to look through here:

I have had a good number of the various Branchlines motor and gearbox kits from back in the day when this business was run by Andy Mullins, and all were most satisfactory, and still run reliably coming up 20 years on. However, I never tackled the railbus, so no direct experience of this specific kit.
