I'm happy with mine apart from these things:
1. The disks at high speed can snag on turnouts and throw them out enough to derail the cleaner.
2. The couplings are rigid to the bogie and if coupled to the 'wrong' loco can also derail on tight rads.
3. Fluid tank is very small and needs frequent refilling.

Ive bought one of these and must say im not impressed with it at all.

It seems to miss a hell of a lot of dirt when you run it over the tracks with an engine attached.

we ended up having to use a track rubber to go over the same place that the track cleaner had missed.

also the pads are not easy to remove from the bottom of it

and its over priced

Tend to agree Dan. I bought one when it first came out and thought it was just me that it didn't work for. It is fine on the vacuuming but for cleaning I have gone back to Isopropyl and a lint free cloth. Much more efficient. Also, I found the cleaning discs got grubby very quickly and there appears to be no spares on the market yet. Even when there are I can't see me going back to it.

may as well use sandpaper on the bottom of it.

it also makes a realy horrible noise when you have the power turned up as it "brushes" away and yes it also derailes alot on our clubs layout over points and crossovers

Mine arrived today, It vacuums the track really well, I tried both discs the abrasive disc didn't to me clean the track all that well, and seemed to wear out fairly quickly.I do have a large double track layout . So as said previously where do we get spares. Can I use white spirit to place in the tank to clean my track ???
