My reversing units come from Tony's Train Exchange. I have 3. One for the turntable and two for each end of my dog-bone layout. Having one on each end makes all the track in the middle the same polarity. So all the yards, stations and storage tracks are the same polarity. Very simple.
We tested the Hornby Select and Elite with these reversing units and they didn't work. The latest upgrade to the Elite firmware apparently solves the problem and it will now work with reversing units.
