I get this sometimes - the odd loco will "flash" it's lights on power up, then to the last setting.

Currently using FLM Twin-Centres & a variety of decoders.

Never seemed to be a problem so it's something I've always ignored.

Hi Firefly,
Welcome to the forum

I have the NCE procab as well and it happens with my locos, as Brian said nothing to worry about ... the time i worry is when i get no response from locos

Hello and welcome to the Forum Firefly

The Time to worry is when you get a flash of light followed by smoke

Normally this would indicate a short usually through the motor brushes. But as it only happens once I suspect that it's the DC side of the circuit being activated. Have you disabled the DC side. This is done through CV 29 and I think CV 13 on a TCS decoder. The easiest way is use Decoder Pro and disable the control CV there.
