Hi All
Coming back into the hobby after many years I remember that I had a shuttle control(gaugemaster I think).Does anybody know how to constuct one that works with dcc as I would like some degree of automation without committing to full computer control.A parts list and wiring diagram would be great. Thanks

***A simply DIY device is not possible with DCC - there is a considerable need for software communication to tell the decoder what to do.

Devices are available to do it though - go to the DCC Bitswitch website and you should find them - not cheap, but they do work.

If no other train shares track with the shuttle, then you could just make sure the decoder runs on DC and use the DC shuttle unit. Or if the train is always on the shuttle route, not fit the decoder to the shuttle train in the first place!

Alternatively I believe a decoder fitted with ABC can be made to work as a shuttle. http://www.electricnose.co.uk/omwb/omwbarchive17.html and search for "Shuttle".
What about the ECoS Command System? The blurb on the DCC supplies page says you can have 8 shuttle trains.

A number of controllers including the ECOS, FLM Twin-Centre/Uhlenbrook Itelibox & probably the VN Commander have this facility. AFAIK, no entry level system has this ability.
