DCC System upgrade

I've just got an N Scale Athearn sound equipped 4-8-8-4 Big Boy. On reading the manual it says it has 28 functions. My Lokmaus 2 has only four functions which seems a little inadequate now and I'm thinking of upgrading.

Now I know that using all 28 functions might be a little over the top and most won't be used, but I'm wondering if there are any DCC systems that have 28 functions? I've looked at the Systems Comparison chart and the maximum seems to be 21.

The system I'm considering upgrading to is the Wireless Multimaus Pro as I would still be able to use my Lokmaus handset with it. Does anyone know how many functions it has?

Hi Poliss

I'm not sure if the MuliMAUS Pro functions are the same as the MultiMAUS as there is noting on the Website to say otherwise.
Version 1.02 MultiMAUS has functions up to F 20 (you need to do a firmware update from V1.02)
As far as I know the MultiMAUS is still being sold with V1.00 firmware. The update fixes problems Programming some decoders and POM with MultiMAUS on the Lenz LZV100
The Lenz LH100 with LZV100 Version 3.6 has 28 functions that can be programmed as latching and non latching (push on push off and momentary contact) Once again you need to do an update of both units (I think it was mentioned in another thread)

There must be other systems (ECos Manual says 20 functions) that access all 28 functions

Hope this helps

***Both the NCE PowerCab and the NCE PowerHouse Pro have 28 functions and very importantly, the ability to read CVs - if you are going to use lots of functions, setup NEEDS readback ability or confusion results.

Thanks both. :)
The Prodigy Advance 2 also has 28 functions, and can read CV's.

Hi Poliss,

The powercab is good value for money and do the job .......
Been on you tube looking at the 'big boy' and i'm even more tempted now
how narrow a curve will it negotiate i'm not sure see what the ebay sales generate and i may be ordering one
See less See more
She goes around the Kato 21-120 12 3/8" radius track quite easily. Haven't tried her on the 20-100 9 3/4" yet as I don't think she can take it. Minimum is 11" I think. I'm looking at the Powercab, seen one for £99.00.
