QUOTE (upnick @ 31 Oct 2008, 11:19) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Hi All,
In my locos i have several manufacturers models of decoder which is ifne if you've fitted them personally, one loco came from a recent purchase with front headlight and cab roof beacon which flashes but only in reverse.
I know it was chipped in America from the buyer, on the programme track i get a reading of manufacturer 129 and 36 for the decoder version, is there a table to give the decoder version numbers ? i already have one for manufacturers ......... this would help if there is such a thing to look up the decoder manual.
Many thanks.
**The "version" is actually the software revision number.
There is no table or such thing available. If you want to change the lighting setup then simply get the manual for the brand.
Lighting functons are generally unchanged between versions, and the CV allocations and their bit stucture are usually also fixed within a brand so knowing the version will not help U anyway... the decoder manual is all you need.
Mfr 129 = Digitrax, so it is a digitrax decoder so you need a digitrax decoder manual.
Re that flashing beacon.
usually the function buton cv will have a number in it that tells it when to act. ie
forward only
reverse only
both directions
there will be a chart hidden somewhere - or at least a garbled explaination in the deoder manual to explain what to change... however digitrax manuals are woefully hard to wade through so good luck
