I'm scratchbuilding a 70s diesel depot loosely modelled on Allerton (3 lane brick structure with corrugated steel cladding and sloped roof).

I have two queries;

1/ I cannot find any photos of the rooves on this type and was wondering if anyone knows what they are made of?

Concrete? Galvanized steel? Other metal? Panelling?

I'm using 5mm foamboard and need to treat it/paint it a suitable colour to represent the correct material. I've cut holes for the windows which I will insert but have no idea what material the prototype rooves are made of.

2/ How are the interior walls treated on the prototype depots? Most seem to be brick which is often painted white but all the photos I have available are in black and white and do not show clearly what if anything the inside walling is made of. Are they plastered? Is cladding used? Metal sheeting?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks but it's the top of the roof which I need to see and it's the sloping rooves. I have found lots of pictures from below or at the same level as the roof but none from above.

Thanks anyway.

Thanks John.

Very helpful. From the type I'm modelling it doesn't appear to have a corrugated roof though it is sloping. I think I need to see some pictures from above such a depot. I've noticed a few of them have gantries on the rooves and a lot of them have windows in the rooves similar to the Hornby Depot shed based on Ripple Lane.
