***Hello Paul

Basically you need to set F0 up as follows (CV33 = F0 Forward and CV34 = F0 Reverse)

CV33 = 1
CV34 = 2

This should give you on/off via the F0/lights button

I didn't bother posting the whole manual for you as the Digitrax approach to this manual is always confusing to less experienced DCC users (actually, its confusing to most users no matter how experienced)

Re the Fx light functions, those higher CVs are simply for special lighting effects, and won't alter the function mapping which is standardised as part of the DCC RP's (F0 light forward & reverse on/off = CV33 and 34)

To have standard lights that turn on and off, CV 33=1, CV34=2 and CV49 and 50 should be set to zero. which is the decoder default.

If you get tangled then use factory reset which is CV 8 to 8

ok, got this sorted at last. Fitted decoder to Rivarossi H8 (easiest loco to fit decoder to so far) and tested without setting address (left decoder at default setting) & found function worked normally. Then reset address usung the Elites's Address Write feature & found I'd lost control of the functions. Then reset the decoder to default (write 8 to CV8) & found decoder back to normal. Rewrote address by writing new number to CV1 instead of using the quick key & found that the decoder now programmed with desired address & functions working properly. So I hope this can be of use to others , I suspect all Digitrax decoders will require a similar approach from Elite users. Now I just have to work out how to write a long address should I require one.
By the way, dont muck around with CV's 49 & 50 unless you want flashing headlights or head/rear light alternately flashing, all good fun but not particularly useful on a steam loco.
