I've bought a bunch of these decoders & I'm just having a problem with the headlight function (f0). The decoder insruction sheet mentions that the outputs are programable but I seem to be missing the bit that tells me how to map the output to a function button. Head light & tail lights behave like DC directional lighting, ie, when the loco is going foreward the headlight is on, and rear lights in reverse, but they wont turn on & off using F0,They can however be controlled by using CV33 & 34, anyone know how to connect CV33 & 34 to F0. I'm using an Elite controller but the Loco's fitted with Bachmann & Hornby decoders respond as requested.

Thanks guys but I've done some hunting on the digitrax web site & found a whole "general" instruction manual for their decoders. Burried way down on page 40 is istructions to program a master light switch on CVs 49 & 50, something to do with the FX lighting effects, going to have a go shortly & will post results here if things work out.
Cheers

ok, got this sorted at last. Fitted decoder to Rivarossi H8 (easiest loco to fit decoder to so far) and tested without setting address (left decoder at default setting) & found function worked normally. Then reset address usung the Elites's Address Write feature & found I'd lost control of the functions. Then reset the decoder to default (write 8 to CV8) & found decoder back to normal. Rewrote address by writing new number to CV1 instead of using the quick key & found that the decoder now programmed with desired address & functions working properly. So I hope this can be of use to others , I suspect all Digitrax decoders will require a similar approach from Elite users. Now I just have to work out how to write a long address should I require one.
By the way, dont muck around with CV's 49 & 50 unless you want flashing headlights or head/rear light alternately flashing, all good fun but not particularly useful on a steam loco.
Cheers
