Who in their right mind would want to own one of these things? They were awful to work on noisy, draughty, all the cab panels rattled on the lower numbered ones and if you were at the wrong end,No 1,I think with the bigger, cab they rode like crabs at higher speeds.
We had a theory they were all put togther on a Friday afternoon.
Because they were similar to the 59,and there the likeness ended, when we went to pass out on them, our tutor driver said'thats the front, that's the back, sign here'-that was it we were passed.
I never envied the Freightliner blokes belting along at 75 with one of these.

plus some of the donor ones we bought at give away prices are now desirable in their own right, thankfully we have a number still in boxes untouched.
Would any be needed for Dover Priory? I’ll ask again on the thread. then need to get you to log in lol

nice modelling, excellent grass and I like the bushes, and the road track, and the dirt on the tunnel entrance, very believable

From a modelling perspective, to represent the only freight traction I see regularly, with a suitable train to go with as 'the contemporary railway, (freight)' exhibit; which has the occasional run.

That's experience talking. I am acquainted with a lifelong Northern Line LU driver who late in his career trained on the 66 so he could do turns on surface maintenance work driving. He thought it was 'amazing' and loved it!
