The software developers of DRail, a track planning software, have launched English and Dutch speaking discussion forums for the users of DRail.

The English-language forums are located at: http://www.drail.net/forum_en/index.php
Discussions on track plans, tips and tricks, problems, and wish lists will all be entertained.

DRail is a software, costing 27 GBP, or 38 EUR, and is truly one of the easiest track planning software around. One can download a free demo version which supports a limited number of items on the drawing board. It's definetely a product worth looking at if you've been having difficulties mastering other CAD track planning software.

The libraries currently supported include a very thorough list of HO, N, and G scale manufacturers including the following:

Scale H0/00
  • Atlas Code 83
  • Atlas Code 100
  • Atlas Code True-Track
  • Fleischmann Profi
  • Fleischmann Modell

  • Märklin M
  • Peco Setrack
  • Peco Streamline Code 75

Hi Kimbo. Didn't realise you were here also.)

QUOTE (Kimbo @ 13 Jan 2008, 08:58) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>The libraries currently supported include a very thorough list of HO, N, and G scale manufacturers including the following:

etc.

And they are adding Marklin Z and several others in the near future. They sound really friendly and appear to listen and, though time will tell, act.

I haven't used DRail in anger yet (I downloaded it but had to go into hospital) but the results I have seen look really good. It is only a planner, none of the 3D scenic bits that I can never seem to master in the other, more expensive, packages.

Best wishes,
Chris
