Hi

I have just purchased a Ecos command station and having problems with programming a LDT S-DEC-4 decoder and would appreciate any help

Preferably a step by step guide as I am new to DCC and have very limited knowledge

First thank you for responding to my post

1. From the main menu

Open setup 2
Default protocol for new accessories
DCC
Press Enter

2. Switch on the turnout decoder
Press the programming key and the turnout motor switches every 1.5 seconds

3. From the main menu

Open setup 1 Decoder programming
Select P.O.M
Select Accessory
Bottom of the screen in the Address box enter 1
Address shows 1 [1-4]
Press Enter

4. The turnout motor is still switching every 1.5 seconds
Press the programming key motor stops

5.Go to the Enter new accessories menu
New Accessory
Protocol DCC
Number (enter) 1 [1.1]
Name (enter) Point1
ACC. (leave blank)
>1<

Select Left turnout
Button (switch)
Duration (750ms)

Press Enter

5.Open Turnout Control Panel
Panel 1 (select top left symbol)
Then Select from list
Then Select Item

Point1 Acc. >1< (D1)
Press Enter
Close turnout control panel
Open turnout control panel
Select Point1 ACC. >1<

The turnout decoder does not operate the turnout motor

Question

Am I entering the commands in the right order?

In the enter new accessories menu do I need to enter anything in to the ACC. Box

Thanks Robin

It sounds correct although this bit I think is for Switchpilot decoders. LDT and Roco point decoders are prgrammed via the button on them. The value which you input is triggered by you switching the appropriate number point on the ECoS. To do your point as number one. You would set up all the detail of point one on ECoS; then go into programming mode and then switch point one on the ECoS.

I am assuming you have a power source to the decoder as you say it is moving when in programming mode. Are you using power from the track or a separate power source?

In the ACC box you should tick magnetic article.

You could also try setting a slightly longer duration for the point motor.

Have a read of this and see if there is anything here which is of help.
