I’m doing something wrong and i’m Not to sure what. I’m helping my dad setup his railway he has an ECOS 50210, he wants to control his points via a mimic panel so he selected the DCC Concepts Alpha switch connected to encoders then to the DCD-SNX sniffer which is plugged into the ECOS sniffer port. We addressed all the points (43 of them) to what the encoders showed and put them onto the ECOS accessories list. All point motors work perfectly through the ECOS but pushing the Alpha switches does nothing even though the correct address gets displayed on the encoders. I have asked DCC Concepts what I am doing wrong just awaiting a reply this week but wanted to ask if anyone is using the same setup and point me in the direction of what I’m doing wrong?

*** You do NOT need the sniffer to use Alpha Mimic. You DO need the sniffer to use Alpha Encoder + Alpha switch-D for an active control panel or Alpha Central. If you wire correctly the turnouts will work and they will also reflect their status in the ESU ECoS

You should contact us by phone for an immediate reply as I have TWO customer service staff away this week so email will be a little slower. 01729 821 080. We will be able to quickly send you a diagram or explain anything you need on the phone if you call. Ask for Richard Brighton if you call this week as he has a nice clear way of explaining these things :) :)

Regards

Hi Richard, we are using Alpha encoder through the sniffer to the ECOS. I spoke to Richard yesterday and tried his recommendations and replied few moments ago. Not looking for immediate replies appreciate we are not your only customers and holidays etc just want to see what’s wrong cheers Tom
