Just managed 3 railway pics from my recent travels. This was the only class of locomotive I saw.

Hmmmmm........... For some reason I cannot seem to be able to show the pics directly, never mind.

All the pics were taken at Luxor Station, the first one shows the loco backing up to the train, the second one coupling up (note the oil stains by the windows !) & the last one is the departing train stopping to allow the "stowaways" on !

Sorry I did'nt get any more (all that she who must be obeyed at all times without question allowed & as the good lady organised & paid for the holiday fair do's).

BTW - anyone have any info about the many NG lines around Luxor that server the suger plantaions ?

There you go Brian.

When I used to travel a lot train was always my prefered method of transport. What I used to like was the way you would see a cross section of the country as the train line would go through all types of areas. It's a great way to see a place.

(& good morning - off for a 04.00hrs start to Sheffied & North Yorks, overnight & back).

Definatly agree about the way you see more by train.

I was wondering what you were doing up at this time!


Train is the way to go. Shame they keep forcing the fares up to make it more inacessible though.
