I am converting Bachmann Mk1 coaches into EMUs and wonder what is the best way to to fill the void left by turning a toilet window into the cabside window? I want to make it as tidy as possible.
I did this some years ago with some Mainline SKs I converted into 4REP and 4TC driving coaches. I used Plastic Wood and filed it smooth then filed out the driving window aperture. I would guess the same technique would work with the Bachmann coaches - use some thin plasticard behind the windows before adding the filler. Milliput would probably work even better (I didn't have this at the time I did the original conversions). Be prepared to have two, or even three "bites" at the job as fillers can shrink or distort as they dry.
I should add: had the Bachmann Mk 1s been available when I did my conversions I would certainly have used them in preference to anything else!
