DMR Models (Jim Russell) are to release a kit of the popular exLSWR B4 0-4-0T in 4mm in the New Year. The model will be an etched brass kit with lost wax and whitemetal castings, there will be two kits available as there is a multitude of prototype variations.

The prototype was long-lived and could be seen the length and breadth of the Southern system from Cornwall to Kent, some were sold out of service to work on industrial lines as far as Scotland.

Those who are lucky enough to have seen the preserved examples at Bressingham and Horsted Keynes will recall the power and size of these' not so tiny' shunters.

It should be an easy kit for a beginner and one is on reserve for Cranborne Road.

It is next on the workbench after the Blacksmith Models P+P unit has been completed.
