February Model Rail magazine

My February Model Rail arrived today and I do have to say it is an absolute corker of an edition.

I won't say too much for the moment but I was wondering if others who pick up Model Rail had the same reaction as myself. For those who are occasional readers then I would suggest you pop down to your local newsagent and pick up a copy as it is one of the best editions in a long while.

Its is interesting to observe though that in the week that Hornby announce that one of their major releases for 2006 is the Devon Belle train pack, Model rail do a two page spread on the Devon Belle following on from a readers question.

And last month they did a big article on the GWR Railcars that Hornby are now reintroducing.

I wonder if there are any clues in Model Rail that hint at Bachmann's new offerings for 2006/07?

Happy modelling

Doug, If you read them in silence rather than at the top of your lungs all the while smacking yourself on the forehead you'd get through these magazines a lot faster.

Do those magazines always seem to be out one month early or is it just me

The next issue of Model Rail is shown as 8th January 2006 - a Sunday?? hmmm.
Certainly no sign of February 2006 Model Rail at W.H.Smith local branch.

Reason for magazines printed a month ahead, apparently is due to the printers insisting to meet their scheduled workload.

managed to get my copy yesterday but funnily i've had February's traction since 23rd december, over a week early.
Stop whining, I'm lucky if I can even find the magazine here in the States. It was a lot easier when I was working in Vancouver instead of Jeb Bush country.

Am I alone in this aspect? The advertisements in the February 2006 issue, where un-readable to me, as the printing was ever so minute that even a strong magnifying glass was of little use.
If the publishers and advertisers are trying to reach a younger readership, then certainly they have succeeded.
No use in my buying the next issue of Model Rail as neither I or my daughter can read the extra small print.
