The white and green or "*** packet" was phased out in 2002 although I only remember seeing coaches in that colour not power cars whilst on holiday in Devon. The white faced purple and pink was around 2005 when the ends were painted purple. Hope this helps and isn't wrong.

The white and green usually called "Merlin" only lasted about 6 months. the current Model Rail mag has details (i dont have it with me but i remember seeing it.)
I lived in gloucester at the time. i think i only ever saw 2 in that livery.
