Fleischmann HO Profi-Track

Knowing that there are quite a few knowledgable people on this forum, do any of you know what code rail the Fleischmann Profi-Track uses? Also can anyone explain the difference between Fleischmann turntables code # 6052C, 6152C and 6651C? The Fleischmann website is not very clear in this respect apart from 6651C being compatible with OO gauge track (but what type?).

Thanks in advance,

Dan

All Fleischmann HO track is code 100 - there is a small difference in height of the rail from the baseboard that's all. You can use Peco Joiners (fishplates) between FLM/FLM or FLM/Peco if you want to.

Hope this helps.
Thanks Brian, that helps a great deal

The difference between the three is the type of track they use. One has preballasted track, one uses brass rails and the other which is the one you will want has nickel silver rails. I use this one with Peco 100 track and it's fully compatible as shown below.

Hi Neil,

Mine will be arriving hopefully within this week.
I will have loads of questions to ask to you and db 50 on the operation side of it.
Mine is the Ni-Ag rail one.
Heard that it is a nightmare to convert to DCC.

Cheers

There is a DCC turntable controller coming out from Fleischmann some time this year.

At least, I believe it is DCC, it is certainly a pre-selector, i.e. you can specify what track you wish it to move to, and it then does this automatically.

Ok, I'm going to be a bit of a pain now - if I wanted to use the Fleischmann preballasted track for the roundhouse (9 roads) and Peco track for the access road and sheds on the other side; which would be the best choice? Perhaps the same one but use the adapter fishplates?

Just to explain, after having to spend a few days freeing my roundhouse and the track from the old layout, I want to make it easier next time round. I reckon the best way of achieving this is to keep the baseboard immediately around the roundhouse and entrance tracks clear to allow it to be simply lifted off in future. The Fleischmann track would help a great deal in that respect, but I want to use the Peco stuff on the other side for the inspection pits etc.

The Fleischmann 6915 control switch will operate "2 rail DC, 3 rail AC, and all digital systems - DCC, FMZ and Marklin" with polarity selected by the control, not the turntable.

You are quite right Ashleyh, infact I saw it being demonstrated at the Nurnberg toy fair this year.
I had no intention in buying one at that time and I therefore missed the opportunity in asking the gentelmen who was demonstrating it my usual daft questions abt its merits

Await to see its launch.

That is easily done, in fact too easy. I did this by mistake as I ordered the wrong extension tracks! The only issue you will find is that the pre ballasted track is a slightly different colour from the Ni-Ag track but you can easily sort this if it's an issue. In terms of which one you choose, if you go the preballasted then you will get six preballasted run off tracks with it so that is less of the extra run off tracks to buy later.

QUOTE Heard that it is a nightmare to convert to DCC.

I don't control mine by DCC. I didn't see any point. If you want to Maerklin have a DCC Turntable module which you can try, or as said Fleischmann have something coming out. The only issue with DCC I would mention is that when the turntable is turning you occaisionally get a short depending on where the track polarity is at on the turntable track relative to the power in track. Doug mentioned this in an unrelated thread and said that he sorted this by isolating all the off shoot tracks and feeding current to them direct. I haven't found it that much of an issue that I have got round to doing anything about it yet.

Sorry to resurrect this post, but has anyone used this turntable (looking at the 6152c) with the Vollmer Roundhouse http://www.vollmer-online.de/de/artikel/art_5758.html

ie just thinking if the track radii line up coming off the turntable

Thanks
Boath drawings of the Roundhouse and the turntable show 15degrees sections. (this is for the turntable)
I think this is standard on most roundhouses ( 6 sheds = 90degrees ) and turntables that only have fixed slots, but there might be 7,5`and 22,5' Versions allso.

That's great - thanks JC.

I had seen that drawing for the turntable (which does indeed have 7.5 deg increments) but could not find the drawing for the Vollmer roundhouse - which I found for a slightly cheaper price at Kramm for 89.99 euros (incl freight), slightly less than the next lowest at 100 + 6 euros shipping.

Will need some space for this one but was really impressed with the one at the Neumarkt Museum last weekend.
A steal compared to the 160 Euro price in Norway

Search Vollmer 45256
I might have been wrong in the terms that you need this kit to make it 15deg but I didn`t see any lettering telling what the kit consists of. You might know that:)

I found this thread to be very helpful when considering adding a turntable to my layout. There is a wealth of useful information hidden deep within the depths of MRF.

The answers to this query helped me influenced my decision to buy the Fleischmann 6152c turntable and I also found the FL 6915 enhanced turntable controller on eBay at a very reasonable price. Now all I have to do is find the time to install all of this kit.

I thought the Profi track is discontinued or soon will be?
Sad to say it has been discontinued from a few months ago. There is shortages of some items already.
Babs
It is a shame it has been discontinued, it was a good track system and looked better than the Roco Geoline ready ballasted track system. I suspect that John will be using the turntable with track that isn't ready ballasted,
Best wishes,
Simon
You are correct Simon; I will use whatever track looks correct when matched up with the Profi that leads off the turntable. I am investigating the Moebo upgrading kit for the Fleischmann turntable so the whole complex will be scenic'd and weathered. I have Peco code 100 and 75, Piko track and also Tillig Code 83 to choose from without having to buy anything else so the one that looks right will be the one chosen.

I did check out the availability of Fleischmann Profi track and it seems that the lengths that are mentioned in the turntable bumf are still on suppliers shelves but for how long stocks will last I have no idea. Who knows what the future holds and it is this concern that prompted me to buy the turntable now. I am also thinking of buying the Sommerfeldt overhead spider. I must be mad.

Best regards ............... Greyvoices (alias John)
