But... for a while the second tender was painted in blue/grey coaching livery, which I believe was done to disguise it and match with the train itself. I believe that at this time the letters LNER reverted to the tender.
I remember that this tender was stored for years (?) at Carnforth and was later purchased by another group (NELPG?)
As a final point on the subject were you aware that with the second tender attached the whole ensemble had to have a 20T brake van attached when reversing on running lines - nice excuse to run Scotsman on a minimum space layout?
