Our town has an "Anne Summers" on the high street and they don't blank the windows. In some ways the window is just a 21st century version of the corsetary / female under garment shops that were to be found on every parade of shops up to the late '60s. Although I don't think there's a 21st century equivalent of the knitted twin set??

As an aside, the other shops in the parade - were wool shop, newsagent / tobacconist, some kind of toy shop, butchers, chemist, small independent grocers, post office......

Of course you'd have to have yellow / amber cellophane in the window in summer too. It was the colour of the stuff on Lucozade bottles....
