Measuring instrument Gas Gauge Circle Audio equipment

I bought the Gaugemaster controller shown in the photo as part of a joblot on eBay which I would like to use either for a rolling road, lighting or on my analogue layout but I am struggling to find out what off the shelf transformer I need (as it did not come with one), what input voltage and current it can deliver. I seem to get mixed answers on line. Do I need a manufacturer's transformers or where else can I buy them? All my other PSUs are Hornby and seem to trip out annoyingly when I am testing locos that I am trying to fault find. I guess output currents of the controller will be important as well as input? Any pointers appreciated.
