It is indeed a 1912 or later production. I think D17 may have had a slightly different body as well possibly a bit higher. I'm interested to hear that ownership of the tools has gone to Brassmasters. Makes a very nice model. If you'd like to see a picture of the trial etch built and painted (as LNER 537809) pm me. I can't be fussed with the method of putting pictures up on this forum.

Hi Alistair,
Thanks for the information. Yes, it does look like a nice kit, which was why I bought it. The instructions state that it can be made into either a Diagram 17 or a Diagram 17A. They also give the impression that the only difference between them was that one was fitted and the other was unfitted. Unfortunately, since my layout represents autumn 1910, I shall not be able to use it.
