LIMA N Gauge CORRIDOR RESTAURANT COACH - WR- BR would that with a simple respray represent a GWR restaurant coach. Is there another way to get one in GWR?

Hi Swingcats,

Have you looked at the Graham Farish Mk1 Restaurant Car in WR Choc & Cream (Cat No. 374-117). You could probably get away with just changing the BR crests to GWR & avoid a respray.

I haven't found a picture of an actual GWR Restaurant Car but I have found one of a Buffet Car which might help you with the transfers. Follow the link below.

Trouble with using a Mk1 is they were not produced until the 1950s, so they were never in service with the GWR. Not being an 'N' gauge modeller I don't have any catalogues to hand, but someone (I think) makes 'Collett' coaches which were a GWR design and might provide an alternative base for a conversion if they don't actually do a restaurant car.

OK, OK, OK.

But at N Scale you could just about get away with it.

The alternative is the Dapol Collett but they don't do a Restaurant Car and it would be a major conversion as the Restaurant Car window configuration is entirely different.

Fine - but avoid the Lima N mk 1's, they are much to short and are generally nasty.

Hi Swingcats, it's me again.

I don't know how accomplished a modeller you are but if you really want the real thing it is available as an etched brass kit.

There is a great web site for all GWR modellers and I have attached a link below which will take you straight to the N Scale carriages page.
