<Introduction>
Graham started this topic 18 months after construction of the layout began. It soon became very popular for its photos, videos and Graham's pleasant and helpful manner. By the time the topic drew to a close in Autumn 2012, three years after work had started, it was largely completed and featured in two articles in Railway Modeller in late 2012, early 2013.

No modeller ever considers his railway complete and it is certain that Graham would have continued to embellish his layout with the detail he was renowned for. Sadly he was diagnosed with cancer in late 2011 but his modelling continued undiminished until late September 2012. Graham died on 6th December 2012.
<End of Introduction>

After 18 months the central station is beginning to look the part , a busy mainline terminus .

Looks brilliant!

One thing though! Your picture is very small! This, presumably, is because you have linked to the thumbnail of the image! When selected the URL to link to you could have clicked on the image to bring up the full image page, then selected that URL which would have made the image a lot bigger!

Sorry about all of that!
Just trying to help!

Anyway, it looks very good!
Where have you based it on?

Stephen /
I am no good with pooters URL ? (sounds like something off the Southern Railway !) I just upload photos from my computer files , I will attempt to do what you have suggested .
The layout is based on no where in particular , I just like main-line locos and trains . Having a Terminus like this means that one would not see that much of the freight workings . There are 7 Platform faces, on the two longest platforms which will take an 8/9 coach train , there is a central storage siding for coaches - it makes the place look very busy
Just tried up loading another , I think that it will look the same as the last !

Thanks for your interest
Graham

Fantastic pictures!!

We definitely need to see more of this layout, and also some idea of the trackplan would be nice even if it's just a pencil scrawl

What Stephen means is that to post a large picture in the post you need the address of where the photo itself is stored. I presume you have it uploaded to somewhere like Photobucket or your own webspace? In which case each picture should have an address such as "http://photobucket/myname/picture.jpg" or something similar. When you want to post you paste this address into your reply adding [ img] before it and [ /img] after it (without any spaces) and the full picture should appear.

For instance this:-

CODE

will produce this:-

Hope that helps

Paul ,
I am uploading from my Photographs stored on the Pooter ( There are nearly a thousand of them !!) I find that if I clic on the fForum pic in the post that they fill the screen , they could not be any bigger ? Does clicing on the small pic work for you ?
The layout is 20 x 9 feet . Top level Terminus station down one side and MPD and workshop down the other . Connected by hidden tracks to mid level which is a continuous run , connected to the lower level which has a reversing loop and 12 storage tracks , (these are located beneath the Terminus )
The attached gives you an idea of the arrangement . Left is MPD , Far left is double track from continuous run to Terminus (and MPD). Centre left is continuous run , Centre left front double junction for tracks to reversing loop and storage siding , centre far right junction for tracks to Terminus . Far right Station Baseboard , storage sidings are underneath . ( See other pic)
I will try to do a drawing (Sketch !) but I have a problem holding pens or pencils for long periods ! Yet I can paint all day ?

The MPD ,

Uploading 3 pics of MPD < (This is still work in progress - I still have loads of detail etc to add - including lights etc)
103
MPD From the Engine Shed end . Top right TT . Line from the continuous run up to Station / MPD is located under the Workshop on the right . buildings are removable for cleaning. Coal Tower and Ash Plant are butchered Superquick kits with much added detail
96
MPD From Turntable Rear. Right can be seen the Roof of the Terminus . The Storage siding Baseboard can be seen below the Station board
77
MPD Front left . Junction of tracks from storage sidings and continuous run , Retaining wall , MPD. Behind TT is Brewery Corner , line from continuous run is under this set of buildings , Like the workshops the Brewery can be lifted off for maintenance. The aim of this was to "hide" the rather tight curve .

I guess either it's a Sunday or the MPD superintendent has more than his share of locos.
