I just wanted to say thanks for the article on the DCC chip installation. I actually used a couple of months ago when fitting the chip and it all went very smoothly. The worst part is hack-sawing the lead weight to make room for the decoder but apart from that it's a straight forward conversion.
Now, if anyone has any ideas on converting my R855 1970s Flying Scotsman which I haven't been brave enough to try yet.. I'm sure I read something about nylon screws...
