Has anyone seen Eddie?

I have noticed on the farish website that 66411 Eddie the Engine is released for sale but everyone I have contacted and my local model shops have not got any in.

Does anyone have one and if so where did you get it from as I would like the Farish one and not the Dapol one.

the dapol one is better than the farish one. from what the rep said on friday the farish one has reached barwell and are being sorted out to be shipped to stockists this week. wether this is correct or not, im not sure but i can only g by what i have been told.

Saw several of the Dapol Stobart in N at Wigan MRE on saturday.
If i recall, the traders were, N gauge lines. and C&G models.
Incidentally the color is quiet different from the Bachmann OO one which i have.
Having never seen it in the flesh, not sure which is the most accurate.

was that the farish or dapol rep that said the dapol one was better?
Bachmann had an N Stobart 66 on their stand at Wigan today, and very nice it looked too. Equally nice was the Aristocraft 66 at nearly 2ft long and needing 8ft RADIUS curves!

The farish rep said delivery sometime this week now. The dapol one in my opinion is better. The paint is closer on the dapol one compaired to the real thing and William Stobart who signed off the paint work on the original one also signed off the paint on the dapol model.

the Dapol one runs so smoothly around a 15 year old layout at club making us think we need to relay the track.

Well for christmas my wife has just bought me the new farish eddie (what a darling she is) and when I open it on christmas morning what will be the best chip that will just plug into it as I haven't actually opened the pack yet.

Would the Lenz silver mini just plug and play.

Does anyone have any ideas or has someone done it yet?
Well I managed to sneak a peak at the loco and it is the same solder tags on it as the class 60's which is a bit disappointing but hey ho I will go ahead and get a chip soldered to it when I officially get it for christmas.
.
Well I have had a disappointing day with eddie having to go back to bachmann through the shop I bought it from as the teeth on the bogies have started shredding on it's first running in session.

Hopefully it will be back in my hands with the fault corrected soon.

There is also an issue with the copper strips that connect to the motor as they are not connecting properly.
Well I got a surprise today when going to show my local model shop my attempt of renumbering my latest class 60 (which is on another thread).
And I spotted a bachmann box which had enclosed in it Eddie fresh back from Bachmann after being repaired.

They replaced the driveshafts, they did something with the pcb board but the loco is working and I am happy with it being back in my possession.
Congratulations on his safe return.
