Have I been badgering? ................ No ............... but .................
I remember taking a photograph of the loco in, I think 1989 at Liverpool Street Station .......... during the rebuild. I was commuting in from Cambridge off the Fenman and saw the loco stabled between the two long platforms that disected the station which were still extant (my memory is bad but were they 8 and 9). 89001 stood at the buffers all on its own. I should have interogated TOPS when I got to my office in Stratford, asking what on earth was the loco doing in Liverpool Street. I probably did make such an enquiry but I cannot remember what, if anything I found out. Hopefully I made a reference in one of my notebooks.
So, I must dig out the photo and check my notes.
Would that sighting on GE metals warant a model purchase .................. ??????

Best regards .................... Greyvoices (alias John)
PS. This reminds me that I must start to scan slides once again as the incident I describe above happened at about time that the wires had been installed northwards up to Cambridge, entailing a loco change at that point. Class 86s taking over from Class 47s.
