are there any metal headboards availiable for 00 gauge. i did see some advertised in a magazine a few years ago but now can only find card ones or transfers.

Assuming you refer to titled train headboards, I have purchased a number of these from CGW Nameplates (01341 250407) - they advertise in th elikes of Railway Modeller and British Railway Modelling. Also Fox Transfers fo OO headboards - they have a comprehensive web-site.
