Heljan are going to release an O gauge Class 47 diesel loco as a follow up to the Class 35 Hymec Loco.

Expect this to appear around 2007.

The 4mm version started out with correct sized bogies, but these were later widened to compensate for the overwidth body.

I saw mentioned in another thread that HJ had samples of the 47 on display at Warley? Is this correct, and does anyone have any pics?

Cheers

No example of O gauge Class 47 at Warley. There was a poster on the back wall of the Heljan stand advertising it. I'll sort my Heljan O gauge pictures of the Class 35 out over the next 24 hours.

Although I find the prospect of an RTR 47 in 7mm very exciting, especially as it's set to cost less than a DJH kit, I'd be even happier if they'd do some rolling stock. Something like a 16 tonner and a 21T brake would be a sensible place to start (long lived and wide geographical spread), then maybe a TTA/B/V (a la Bachmann 00). I've emailed Heljan to suggest this, I hope they take note.
