Hi,
just joined you wonderful site - looks great.
Just a bit about my layout, its in a 10' x 8' shed so the size of the layouts probably a bit less. Im attempting to model the Cambrian Railways in the late 50s/early 60s - as Its a really interesting line and in that period actually came down to where I am (
). Its run on DCC and at this moment Im at the stage of scenery and installing chips to locos - which I'm sure I'll be able to get some help with from this site

Hi Tom,
Pleased to hear of another Cambrian modeller, mine is pre war circa 1938, hopefully around the Corwen area. I first started modelling BR ( LMS ) until my wife bought me a Great Western book for xmas, that was some 25+ years ago and gradually took a liking to the Cambrian section and its gone on from there. If I can be of help with prototype information please get in touch.

Hi,
Thanks for offering help - sure I'll need it!
1938s a good period to model, would love to have done that but went for BR instead due to availability of RTR stuff. Might get into earlier when my kit making skills have got better!
I've based mine more on the Newtown, Machynlleth route as I used to live on the line (well next to it!)
Regards Tom

Hi Sparky,
Yes Fred is still going, he has moved twice from Burslem and is now down Piccadily in Hanley. Waterloo road has also changed a lot, Adulti now a supermarket I think.

Welcome to the forum Tom,

Don't be shy, just ask what you want to ask - someone should know the answer.

>which section should I post them in?
I would start a topic in "Track, layouts and scenery. If you're feeling really adventurous, you could start a blog of your progress....

I look forward to your photos.
