To introduce myself:- I started Railway Modelling back in the '60's with Triang (couldnt afford H-Dublo, anyway it looked silly with 3 rails). Moved on to N scale when the first loco kits became available, the Jinty took a Minitrix chassis I think. Modelling took a lengthy break when I found out how much fun girls were, bought a house etc. Moved house a few times, then my wife enticed me away from my allotment with the promise of a garden railway. Lost job, sold house moved to smaller place, small test track (32mm) in tiny garden, part built N layout, ditto 009 in storage.

My main interest is odd branch lines (Col. Stephens etc) & Narrow Gauge in most scales.

Started up as a small retailer in Lewes, then Peacehaven around 10 years ago, a few of you may know me - Loconotion Models.

Dinwiddy was my school nickname when I was about 11 (Jimmy Edwards 'Whacko' on TV). I havn't a clue why I chose to use it here - I think my mind went blank - it seems to happen now!

Welcome Dinwiddy, good name for a shop, I had to do a double take in the RM this month when I spotted it.
The Colonel's empire was fascinating and the lines that remain are always worth a visit.
Happy modelling, Mike

Welcome to the forum Dinwiddy,

I have to say I have always had a liking for the Colonels empire, and indeed have even had a go at modelling it. I now avoid the girls bit, either too old or too ugly, not sure which.

Regards
