Just getting the handle on this computer stuff and finding out just how good it can be.
Have been a modeller for far to long, started with BR southern region in the early 1960's and then moving to German HO when my relatives give me Fleischmann as presents and I have never looked back.
At present I have a 6M x 2.5M layout project based on Wuppertal Elberfeld DB Epoch III,as shown on my website.
I still have much to do.
Wonderful hobby.

Regards

David

Great layout David and a very warm welcome to the forums.
This computer stuff is wonderful! I feel like a kid with a new toy.
Have loaded two videos of my trains on my website as a bit of fun.
Honest I will grow up a sum point?

David
Welcome, David.
You might grow up at some point, but I'm still working on it.
A very nice layout you have.

Why: I said I would grow up when I was 18, that was 30 years ago and I still like my "toys".

Welcome to the forum David - enjoy your visits.

Welcome David - I see you have good taste in coaches !

Hi from me too, David

I understand "Ade coaches" OK, though few have the radius of curve that you have to haul them around!
But the significance of "26point4" escapes me - lots of things do, so this is not unusual!
But what is the rational explanation for this?
Is "26" the number of Ades you have running and "point4", a kit that is nearly half completed?

Mad guess time - 26.4m = length of 1 : 1 version ?

Ade coaches as I am a huge fan and replacing other makers stock with these when possible.
26point4 as dbclass50 explained.

Thank you for the welcome,

David
Hi David,

Thanks for confirming that - I've just won a KitKat off my mate !

As an aside I have 3 Ade coaches in my personal collection (sadly unboxed) that I will never run - any good to you ? - if they are send me a PM & I will send you some pics/details.

best regards
Brian

David, just went thru yr website. Fantastic. I've added it to my favorites so that I can cruise thru it in a more peaceful atmosphere ( after tucking the kids to bed..)

By the way I've noticed yr liliput Br45 , its kind of a different color, in precise words its white. Roco has a similar color Br 44 and it says something like: photo printed next to it.

Any idea of what this means and why is it that color?

Best of luck

Hi Baykal,

sorry to interfere; I should know better, yet...

The white, or actually very light grey photo livery, has been applied to Reichsbahn engines upon delivery from the factory, so that photos could be taken. Pipes, vents, valves were black, as was the foremost boiler section, and certain parts of the drivers´ cab, walkways etc. The idea was to create photos with a maximum amount of contrast to show most if not all of the plumbing that had been applied to the loco. This would have been very difficult to see on a black and red engine. After the delivery photos had been taken, the engine was painted in black and red (or, in early Reichsbahn and Länderbahn years, green and red, blue and black, teal and red, whatever colors the engine was supposed to wear).
