Hello!

I need some help on how to attach the dreaded PECO PL-10 to a doubleslip crossing. When attaching the motor there are 4 "legs" that go into 4 holes on the double-slip. Problem is (it's never easy with peco), two of those legs go right in the middle of the double slip and hit the rolling stock above.

There is not enough space to bend them down because they would get in the way of the switch point rails.

what's the recommended way to do this? I thought of cutting those two legs but then the motor would be unstable.

Please check the image below. Circled are the problem areas

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

QUOTE (RFS @ 8 Jul 2018, 09:57) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I would suggest using a PL-9 mounting plate so that the motor is below the baseboard. See PL-9 Mounting Plate

The PECO instructions do also say to trim the leg of the motor - Peco Instructions

Well spotted the trimming bit! Thank you

I know of the PL-9 but it requires the pl-10E (extended pin) so for now it has to be attached directly to turnouts.

I added my double slip just recently.

I used two PL-10EW motors. The two wires coming from the middle - joint these to the dropper wires. The wire at each end of the point, connect each of these to the opposite motor (wire on the left hand point connects to the motor on the right visa versa)

It is tricky to get both motors lined up spot on though!
