HELP NEEDED!

527 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  alanoes
Hi Guys,
I have bought a Hornby GWR train set that I want to put behind the bar in my pub. Unfortunately I cannot make a loop (lack of space) so it will need to be able to stop at one end and then reverse back. Is this possible and what do I need to do it?
Please help!

Hi Lisa, and welcome!

I believe what you are probably after is a 'shuttle module' such as the one made by Gaugemaster here, which is a very simple one. Other manufacturers make more sophisticated modules such as this which can provide better operation (such as gradually accelerating/braking rather than 'slamming on/off), so it depends on what you want out of it!

Cameron.

Hi Cameron,
Thanks for replying. Do I need two? One for each end of the track?

Hi Lisa
No, you only need one. you will have to wire it up as per instructions which probably means dividing the track (electrically) into 2 or 3 sections, you don't mention if the set is DC or DCC, I'm assuming DC but some more information would help (set make and model number)
