I would like to introduce myself. I am a new member based in Brisbane ex uk many years ago now. I have not started my latest project yet as we have only recently relocated from sunny Perth. I am looking forward to participating in what looks to be a very interesting and freindly forum. Hopefully we can have plenty of discussion in the future.

Cheers

hi there

welcome to the forum!
we have quite a collection of members from Aus!

what do you model?

Peter
Thanks for the reply. I model BR LMR 1960's steam with one or two deisels thrown in (40's 25's ) 4mmscale oo gauge. Whilst most stock is RTR I do enjoy scratch building the railway buildings mainly based upon North Wales coast prototypes.
Hi & welcome to MRF, be sure to keep us updated.
Hi and welcome aboard.

(is it some kind of takeover down under?)

Regards
There do seem to be a lot of guys from Oz who are interested in model railways, British in particular.

Welcome !

Perhaps the forum will be enhanced so that we can invert the threads so Ozzie guys don't have to stand on their heads (!)

Personnally, I'm waiting for a guy called Steve under the identity of Hamsey Down Under to join from the Hornby site so we can carry on discussing the merits of Vegimite verses Marmite or Biltong. On the Hornby forum, he reported blowing up a shed load of all three and the administrator was apparently unimpressed. (Maybe Hornby's administrator was issued with a broom afterwards....)
Hi Millsie,

welcome to the forum. Good to have you onboard.

cheers

Neil
Hi Millsie, welcome along. Shame not to have caught up with you in Perth. I just relocated from Perth to Melbourne in December. Look forward to seeing some of your work.
Thanks for the warm welcome, its much appreciated.
Hi Tony and welcome to the MRF.

Plenty of good help and advice here from the very friendly and knowledgable members. This is certainly THE forum to be a member of. I've recently returned to the hobby after a 30 year break and the help I have received has been invaluable in bringing me up to date.

It's good to see that our antipodean members are keeping the flag flying, so to speak, by mostly modelling the British scene. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

Hi millsi

Welcome to the forum, very friendly and knowledgeable group on here. I flyall the time between Perth and Brisbane. I mainly model English steam but try my hand at almost everything that catches my eye. Hence "the magpie modeler".

Hi Millsi, Welcome to the MRF. Good to hear you mainly model British outline. I model LMS and LNER mainly and Diesel's also.

Hope you get as much out of this forum as I do. The people on hear certainly know there stuff.

Good to see so many modellers in Brisbane. I have been thereto Austral Modelcraft once and then promptly lost the directions so I have not yet been back. A great little shop with people who are knowlegable and more than willing to help. I will hopefully see them at the Brisbane show and spend more of my hard earned.
Again many thanks for the welcoming messages.
