hi,

My layout is called the The High Lee Valley Railway. It is preserved line set around the GWR network. The trains it has are:

1x LMS ex CR pug(in LMS livery)
1x GWR pannier tank(in GWR livery)

and that's all, when open we loan coaches and locos. Here are some pics of last weeks steam gala and ill get some pics of this weeks 4F weekend soon...
hope you enjoy:

...LNER J72 on loan puffs across the moor with a trip goods...

...Then it arrives at Lee...

...Now the J72 takes an LMS composite off to Bell inn halt...

...After it arrived from Bell inn halt it gets ready to run around....

...Here it is after its trip to Bell inn halt, just after it ran around, now its waiting for a train to pass....

...Then it passes the LNER B12 on loan...

...Here we see the LNER B12 ready to depart lee...

...Here we see the B12 in the siding and the black 5 on loan buffering up to the carriages...

...The black 5 is ready to depart lee...

...Now the black 5 steam off to get the other black 5...

...Then the other black 5 on loan joins in and we get the push me pull you light train, here we see it racing across the moor...

...Then the black 5's go into a siding and the B12 and Pannier tank have a turn...

...Then the pannier tank goes into a siding and the caley pug shunts the wagons away...

Hope you liked them very much, for more look here:http://picasaweb.google.com/tintinfan2/HLVRPics#

Quite honestly anything goes! A good condition unboxed diesel can frequently be bought at exhitions for as little as £20-£25, and last generation steamers for arond £25-£30. Go out and take your pick. (I got an as new Hornby Q1 for £40!)

bit hard when you are not living in the UK
I have moved from UK 3 years ago now...boy am i missing it!I get my stuff from hattons online and i am thinking of getting a cheap, powerful, good runner and nicely detailed loco!

Ah - didn't realise you were outside the UK, in which case the anything goes still applies, the Bachmann class 24/25 are reasonably priced, good runners and pull a fair load. (mine has shifted 9 full length continental coaches with no problem)

Regards
ok,

I was looking at the diesel section,i think my model railway will be a "rat & cromton" railway as they are rather cheap and look good....
Baseboards still awaiting...I soon should be getting a new loco!...
I was thinking of getting a class 45...what are they like?Great runners?

Good choices, with the availability of classes 24,25,26,27 and 33 you have the motive power for most types of train, and the modern models are very good.

Regards
Nothing much new,but the two hornby locos have come to the end od their life
I will soon be getting a loco to operate most services.
