Hornby Digital Rerailer Tool

2917 Views 12 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  Gwent rail
I have spotted that Hornby have produced a new rerailer tool coloured red and branded "Hornby Digital".

Some stockists are giving it away as a freebee if you purchase Hornby Digital equipment. For those Hornby aficionados who collect absolutely anything to do with Hornby marketing then this is bound to be collectable little number going forward as it said to have been produced in limited numbers.

Happy modelling

I spoke to Hornby today, asking about the true reason for this tool.

Although nobody seemed to know it's exact purpose and could not tell me if it was also suitable for DC use, it was made clear that this is only the right handed version!!

In response to an impassioned plea, they have agreed to produce a left handed version which will be available sometime next year, in a limited edition and numbered release.
Simon Kohler is said to have commented that because this is being made from old Lima tooling, it cannot be guaranteed to be prototypically correct. Due to problems with past records, it may also be produced in the wrong colour!!!
