Hi Can anyone help please... As I am wanting to make some new wooden reels for this flat waggon of mine I need to know the outside overall dia
of the reel plus the width.... please. I have the flatbed but not the reels...Any help would be great.

Assuming that the wagon has a standard 10' wheelbase, you could scale the diameter from the picture. However looking at them and assuming 10' wheelbase that would make the drums a scale 5' in diameter which is 20mm and the width you could make to be a snug fit in between the vertical sides of the inside faces of the wagon. At a guess around 25-29mm.

Good question, doubt there were many cable drum enthusiasts busy dimensioning this once relatively common railway load, in the post war reconstruction period.

OK let me try and explain this again all I have is just the flatbed wagon it is missing it's original reels..... Hornby Dublo 3 rail model... I need to make some cable reels like shown in the picture. This one shown is not mine it's just an example of one that I am trying to restore it to look like.
Surely someone on here must have this model with the reels attached to it..... All I need if possible is for someone to measure the outside diameter of the wooden reel plus the width of it as well.
