Thank you Butler-Henderson, if only I had rembered that I downloaded those service sheets last year. On the 4F you only need to undo front & rear screws on loco as the middle one holds the wheels and motion in place.

The only thing I can think of is that Hornby tend to incorporate a stupid spiders web of exessively over long wiring which sometimes can get trapped between one one side of the motor and the body shell meaning a tug is needed to pull the chassis out of the body. If you cannot get the body off suggest emailing Hornby at [email protected]
