It appears that PC WORLD of all people sell Hornby train sets on their internet site over Christmas.

All listed sets bar one have been sold. The one available is the latest Harry potter set 'Order of the Phoenix'.

This is the R 1095 which is still being sold on the Hornby website for £90, and on a lot of other sites which still have them.

The Castle Loco is sold seperately between £69.99 and £74.

The set consists of the Castle Loco, two BR MK1 maroon coaches (Brake and Composite), C990 power supply, R965 Controller, 8 R607, 9 R600, R8206 power rail, R8075 point,
1 R604. There is also a platform kit and waiting room, Oh, and also a Harry Pottter trackmat.

Bought individually the parts add up to £105.

The engine is also DCC ready, and comes supplied with a standard 8 pin socket.

The price............................................................£49.99 if you are quick.

I actually managed to fit a Lenz silver decoder L10331 which is one of the larger ones. I double sided taped it to the side of the chassis between the decoder socket and the engine.

It runs really well. It is so fast, that when I tested it on DC with the supplied controller, I had to keep it below 3/4 speed it stop it shooting of the track

The headlight beaming out of the front of the engine also looks really great with lights out.
