Hey all,

I've been out of model railways for a few years and have come back to it to see the live steam range has been discontinued. I have the Flying Scotsman model of the range, can anyone help with where I can get the oil and water from to use this or are there alternative ones I can use.

Also need new syringe to fill oil as can't find it.

Many thanks.

Welcome back to modelling! For water, look for a local supplier of distilled water NOT deionised. Oil - if you can find your original bottle, that's your best bet. Syringes may be more of a problem, particularly the blunt needles used with them.

Have a search through the forum - I recollect that a company took over all the remaining live steam items, and may still have supplies? Alternative is to look at second-hand stalls at model railway shows - I got myself a complete and unused "Dwight D Eisenhower" for a very reasonable price a couple of years ago that way, with all the accessories in the original packing!

Regards,
John Webb
