actually 2 questions do you know what motors hornby fit in the new railroad range of locos particularly the A4 @the new 9F I wonder why there are no detail descriptions of this range so far
In the Railroad A1 its' the regular 5 pole black can (the whole chassis is identical to the Hornby A1/A3/A4) so I would expect the Railroad A4 to be just the same; and the service diagram of the 9F has what looks like the same 'black can' motor. Nice motor for a low cost product, but a high degree of standardisation on this motor throughout the range (almost like it used to be in the 'XO4 with everything' days) makes sense.
We're still waiting to get our hands on a sample of the 'new' Railroad '9F' model, but it is due to feature locomotive drive. As soon as we know more, it will be in the magazine.
