DCC means dummy overhead, but it seems to be the case that DCC Fitted versions are normally the first out . (Bachmann have done the same with the 37) . It does seem that the manufacturers make one of the less popular versions the first release - presumably to help get it away when demand is strongest

It will be interesting to see whether the DCC Fitted version of the Pendolino falls by the wayside in the years to come - at least outside the trainsets
