i got the above set, and wanting to chip it. however i thought it was an old version as it was through mail order and was in the catalogue for a couple of years now. anyway i opened it up and found that it is dcc ready with a dc blanking plug in place. it's an 8-pin version,

the jinty and class 08 in the mixed goods set have a flat pin plug / socket connected to the decoder(s), which i was going to transfer over to the box set. not the case as some wires are cut at the decoder.

The decoders in the Jinty and 08 have their own part numbers (x9659).
I think they are a standard Hornby decoder but with a smaller connector for these locos.
Its only the function wires that have been removed.
