I bought a set of 3 EWS wagons in the Railroad range last Thursday, it cost £9 for 3 and I spent about an hour weathering them and £1.75 on replacing all the wheels with metal ones.
Do you know what? they look really damn good!
I've also got one of the big EWS hoppers (pre-weathered) and they don't look at ALL out of place hooked up with this.
An absolute bargain, Hornby have really hit a good compromise with these. Sure they aren't ultra detailed but, like I said, with the plastic wheels replaced they really do look like they should have cost 3 or 4 times more than they do.
Finally, eBay prices in the shops, and reachable for everyone!
