It wouldn't be the first time that hornby have produced American outline models. I have seen several on E-Bay after the last few weeks from the Transcontinental, Canadian and ATT ranges of the mid 60s and Early 70s.
If you read the books by Pat Hammond, there are several photos of products made for these markets.
As for me, I'm waiting for Hornby to produce a series of Edwardian Engines. (Truro, Midland single Etc..)
