What problems are you having?
I am not sure which list you are refering to. if you can give us sopme idea of your intended track plan then maybe we can halp.

I asume you are working on a small layout and you are going for set track. this has rigid sleepers to keep things simple.
In the UK there are really 2 flavors to choose from. Peco and Hornby.

hi pedro,in issues 3&4 it gives a track plan and list of parts for small layout horndale.aprox 4ft square.i thought what a good excuse to have a running in layout.on trying to configure it with hornby virtual railway i cant get it to join up with thier list of honby parts . cheers for any help billy

Hi Billy,

I seem to remember that there was a slight problem getting it all to match up based on the details given to us by the chap who built the layout, but Mike Wild managed to sort it out and using some shorter pieces, managed to get it to work. I'll get in touch with Mike this evening and see if he can offer the solution you are looking for.

I am currently building the Paul Lunn version of Horndale as I think it is more interesting. I have already built the baseboard out ot 6mm MDF supported by 2x1 framing. To me the Horndale layout in Hornby magazine looks dull and interesting. I purchased the track (peco) from the list in the excellent book Model Rail Planing and design by Santona Publications. Also purchased all the buildings recommended by Paul Lunn. After several days and drinks the track would just not line up!. I seemed to have a spare piece left. I letter to Paul Lunn via Santona brought me the correct configuration for the setrack. I agree it is tight, but if you want a simple layout in a small space. The baseboard is not square but contoured as Pauls diagrams in the book. I have used the Guagemaster underlay and hope to post some images soon. The only problem so far is that the Hornby Goods Shed is very tight so I will have to put a radius 3 curve and increase the baseboard on the left hand bottom corner.
